Sammy G always helps fight the winter blues.
Life.
Oh how we take such a beautiful gift for granted each day.
Caught up in our own struggles.
Missing the light in the people around us.
We can’t have anyone understand our circumstances, no one would understand or care.
Do not miss the wind blowing the trees.
Hope is not to be taken lightly.
Do not miss the pain in the strangers eyes.
Doubt is a grave.
Heart is a weapon.
I can assure you.
The hair in your eyes will not disguise what you are thinking.
We are in this together.
My God we need change.

Bikini’s and Sport’s car’s; The American dream is dead.
I watch Akon show me around his multi million-dollar house on MTV cribs. He shows me his bedroom where “the magic happens.” I think to myself, all I see is an insecure little boy. Then it hits me that we have been lied to all of our lives. This simple lie of self serving desires. Isolating ourselves because we need more. “I” want, “I” need, “I” must have.
Meanwhile innocence is being violently raped. Children are being sold into a lifetime of sex slavery. Broken hearts beg for money on our streets. We drive on with lady Ga Ga on the radio singing to us about riding a disco stick.
I would not question people’s morals. I would not second guess someone’s action because there is simply none left. Everything I hear relates somehow to sex or self-serving greed.
When you wake up and think that everything is a mess, you are not alone. It is a mess. It will stay this way, and continue to get worse until we stand up “together.” Life is meant to be lived together. Heal together. Cry together. Laugh together. Pray together. Mourn together. Dream together.
When you see the tabloids stories about the rich and famous in drug rehab, it holds a clue to your life and hopefully your future. You have been lied to. You will never fill a empty void with a self-severing life. In the midst of my deepest brokenness a dear friend told me simply, “If you feel like you are to broken to carry on, you must find someone worse off then you and help them.”
My life will never be the same.
Just a thought.
